I founded LAM as a personal style + shopping advice blog in 2010. The goal was to create a compelling alternative to mainstream fashion media. Instead of chasing seasonal trends and buying into the endless cycle of impulse shopping, LAM was one of the first blogs to focus on a slow fashion approach to building a seasonless, evergreen wardrobe. Real life style content, long form personal essays, detailed product reviews, and engaging interviews made LAM stand out from the myriad fashion blogs of the 2010s.
I’ve relaunched LAM here in 2024 because Substack’s platform is a natural fit for two things I really care about: quality writing and community building. My purpose with this newsletter is to help us find some clarity in the fashion circus, and discover both style and substance along the way.
