JD was absolutely the QUEEN and this packing list has always been a huge inspiration to me: not just for packing, but also for streamlining a wardrobe. Love this post and your modern suggestions!

Yay, so glad you're a fellow JD fan 😊 She had such a precise way with words and it's not surprising that she distilled that same spirit into her packing list (which stands alone as a pretty compelling piece of writing on its own!).

I love a good list! It also helps me from overpacking, which is a lifelong struggle. That caftan is dreamy and I can see wearing that when I am not on vacation but need to pretend I am at the beach anyway.

Just came back from Tunisia. 1 downside of being a full coverage dresser, luggage gets heavy! The weather ended up being much hotter than the forecast (expectations: 80s-60s vs reality: 100+and all seasons in 1 afternoon). So I would have been better off packing more tops and a lt weight cardigan instead of some of the outerwear I brought.

I also 2nd elastic waist pants because travel bloat is REAL!

This is why we haven't heard from you recently! I hope you had a great trip aside from the weather mismatch. Team elastic waist pants and not just for travel, but for summer (and some iterations for f/w) in general! Plus there are SO many stylish designs now to choose from 👌🏻

WWJDD! I’m just going to print out your graphic for future packing guidelines (visual learner here 🙋‍♀️). I don’t travel much right now but in my early 20s I traveled a ton AND capsule wardrobes were the rage. I used to print capsule wardrobe examples off Pinterest and stick it in my suitcase as a reminder of how to mix and match my clothes.

It is a pretty big compliment that my post possibly qualifies for print-out status for you, Kelly! Nothin wrong with visual learning, I am thinking of printing out style refs and laminating them like the geek that I am and sticking them on my closet door 😄
