I love the glove shoes - I bought some Essen ones last summer and they are 10/10 for comfort and style.

I have the same ones and love them. I don’t wear them all day if I’m walking a lot because I just can’t, but as glove flats go they’re very comfortable and perfect for adding elegance to an outfit!

So great to hear that you have a positive experience with these, Lin! I agree the higher vamp adds something extra to the design that elevates it compared to a more casual ballet flat.

Phone pouch is also on my mind lately! Probably started with me giving my mom one from Quince for xmas — it’s pretty nice! Simple, soft, nice colors. Then I saw this on IG and gosh very tempting. https://bembien.com/products/porta-crossbody-check

I still primarily work from home so there’s virtually nothing to plan for me, living variously through posts like yours! I would love to know which jeans have endured from the early 2000s till today; I had some real gems from that era that I sadly can’t fit into anymore.

Noted on the jeans query–I may do a separate post of some sort on that as the subject of denim qualifies as a category onto itself. WFH doesn't necessarily mean no ways to have fun with clothes! Though I do know what you mean; one of my 2024 and beyond style goals is to work on bridging this gap between all the ways that we 'code-switch' between clothes for "at home", "gong out", "travel", etc. Ideally there should be continuities running through all of the realms of how we dress. IMO that is part of a defining characteristic of a closet that truly reflects who we are and how we live.

I also got a very reduced Maison Margiela phone pouch and it’s probably my most used and loved item - it fits my work pass, phone, lipstick and glasses in a soft sleeve.

I love this growing consensus on the versatility of a phone pouch! How did we ever manage without one? :D

I don’t even know. My friend insisted I needed to be hands free for work events and it’s been life changing.

That's a good friend :) Years from now the phone pouch will be in some museum exhibit with a caption explaining how indispensable it was to 21st c humans in everyday life.

I am very keen for Martiniano glove shoes but no stockists in Australia and no international returns. Interested to see what you think of Mansur Gavriel. I’m also looking at Essen. And very glad to see you back writing!

Thank you so much for reading and being part of this style community, Agatha. I've only known MG for some of their bags. The Essens look quite good, with great colorways. Will definitely post an update here once I get some IRL impressions!

I recommend checking out Lindquist Object for a phone pouch. I LOVE the Celine trifold tote and have been stalking resale sites. What color did you get?

Thanks for the rec! Isn't the trifold so compelling and gorgeous? Very underrated design IMO. Mine is black. Once I get some time and use out of it I may do a review if readers are interested. It's one of my all-time favorite vintage/resale finds :)

Lovely! And not much can match the thrill of such vintage/resale finds. I’m always interested in a bag review, that’s how I discovered your original blog years ago!
