I LOVE this! I once read somewhere that if you don't know what to wear with a certain color think about how you see it in nature (i.e. red with green and brown like on an apple).

Yep - and my fave example of this is a peacock feather. Nature is so good!

Yes to all of this! I'm always intrigued by the color combinations I see in birds. Even a single feather can have so many different shades of the same color, or in some cases, drastically different or contrasting ones.

Oh bird plumage is truly a masterclass of color coordination. I saw a David Attenborough documentary about exotic birds in South America and they are the original fashion queens. A peacock feather is always a source of rich color inspiration too.

yes: tropical fish & plants, jewel tones, cheetah/leopard/jaguars, zebra, earth tones (looks terrible on me, but love it on other people)

no for me: garden florals, pastels

Love tropical fish - the peacocks of the sea! Once you get past the literal stuff (ie: floral prints in spring/summer), ingenious print and color palettes are everywhere in nature. Love jewel tones for myself as well!

yesss 💯 I have pretty much the same "rule" about color combos: "If it exists in nature, you can make it work."

Love pink + green. Up there with lavender + yellow :)

Claire, I'm the same way! I tend to default to my comfort zone when in a time crunch while getting ready, so having some nature-inspired color palettes on hand is my solution 👌🏻
